I’m not sharing something you can quit your day job over so keep your seat belt on. This is just a tip that I would share with my friends or my little brother so he can make few bucks. It’s an easy and newbie method so you can make your first sale! or first $25 payout from Commission Junction using eBay.
The easiest affiliate program to promote is getting people to sign up and bid on eBay. If you already know how to create eBay affiliate link from CJ, Then skip this intro, go straight to my conclusion. Otherwise, let me make this a newbie guide on how to make few bucks from your friends and family using eBay:

1. You need to sign up with eBay affiliate. affiliates.ebay.com eBay affiliate program is almost automatic approval unless you are international users. That’s another story.

2. After you have signed up, you need to know your PID # It’s under Accounts > Website Settings. Please do not get confused with the number next to your name on the top right area. That is not your PID #. See screenshot below.

3. You want to bookmark this FlexTool page so you can come back to it easily. There is another way from CJ account where you can create this same link but using flextool page is so much faster and easier for novice users.

You need to familiarize using this flexible destination tool.

After you get the hang of it, you can do this in few minutes.

1. Enter your CJ PID number

2. Enter the eBay auction page you want to link to.

3. Enter the click-able text you want to use: (type something there for now)

4. Click on “make my link” button

Results: Active eBay affiliate link.

You are going to use this link from box #2.

This is the link you are going to use to pass on to your friends and family or email it to someone who might be interested in the eBay auction you have found. You can even send this link as an email to send to entire company but this is something you can instant message to your friends or Myspace/Facebook bulletin/comment.

Here is how things really work:

1. There is usually something cool or unique auctions happening on the front page of eBay.

Example: Project Pink breast cancer awareness campaign

I usually hit the “Giving Works” charity auction area. Why? Because people don’t assume there is a “catch” to something when the auction’s proceed goes to some charity. People don’t think twice that the link you sent them is your eBay affiliate link!

Basically, you are going to pick out an unique auction from “Giving Works” area then create an eBay affiliate link out of it.

I’ve used several examples like:

“Hey, would you buy this dress for $100,000? this dress would look good on you and all proceeds goes to charity. <Insert ebay affiliate link>”

“Look at how much this guy is paying to have dinner with Warren Buffett? Auction is up to $700,000k… <insert affiliate link>”

“Hey check out these cool ducks that celebrities decorated for charity? I like the one that was made by Melissa Joan Heart, I think they are all cool…

That’s it. You find something on eBay that is really interesting. You write a sentence or two, go create your eBay affiliate link using flexible destination tool. Then send this to your friends, family, PM to your buddies online or mass email people if you want?

Interesting auctions will give you higher click through rate. People don’t realize that this is an affiliate link you are sending, it looks like a real eBay auction page.

How much will you make?

You can make $25 per every person who signs up and makes a bid on eBay. 30 day cookie!

Does this really work?

1. You send them to an auction that is really interesting. Unlikely they will make a bid on the link you sent but these people come back to eBay to make a bid on something else within 30 days. This is why there are many sites related to Unique or Weirdest eBay auction sites making money.

2. People trust your recommendation and the link doesn’t look like an affiliate link “=ref?9890″ etc. The link doesn’t look suspicious especially if you send them to an auction that is related to “Hot Topic” and “Charity Auctions”

3. You can send this link to all of your buddies email addresses, instant message people, advertise your link. Make it little personal with what you say.

A few tips on besides using “Charity Auctions”

One time events, hot sold out and hard to get tickets like Hannah Montana concert. Say something like “I know you’ve been searching for Hannah Montana Tickets, you should browse on eBay, maybe you can find cheap tickets? I found few auctions starting at $1 without any reserve <insert affiliate link>
